Walking through the doors of Wesley-Rankin Community Center was pure joy. From the brilliant smile of my dear friend, Sevi- who is rocking in her new(ish) role of Community Engagement Manager- to the sounds of kids saying “Miss, miss! Take my picture,” I felt immediately in my element again. The after-school space is close to my heart, but I learned that Wesley-Rankin offers so much more. With adult and senior education programs, they serve an entire community in West Dallas.
I teamed up with Sevi to revamp their website and bring it into the 21st-Century. The biggest issue was the site’s lack of mobile-responsiveness and inability for people to donate online from their phones. Volunteer recruitment is also a priority, so we wanted to make it easy for people to learn more and sign up for opportunities. Spanish translation was also imperative for their audience, so we needed an easy way to switch between languages. In my scope of work, I included time for photography so we could brighten up the new site with clear visuals that told the story of the Wesley-Rankin family.
I’m so happy with how the new Wesley-Rankin website turned out and hope it does justice to the incredible work they are doing for our community. Scroll down for a before & after!
